Calorie Counting Foods, The Simplest Way to Lose Weight
Losing weight can be easy, you just need to know how to count. The idea of calorie counting to lose, maintain or gain weight has been around for years. However, not everyone know how to count calories to achieve a healthy weight.
Now a days we see things like the 1000 calorie challenge or we hear that people have the perception that limited yourself to 1200 calories a day is the best way to lose weight. There are experts that advise a woman never eat less than 1200 calories and that a male never eat less than 1600 claories. We are all individuals of differnt age, sex, size and activity levels, therefor I find the generalizations attributed to calorie counting to be somewhat sill at times .
Let's consider a more precise way to count calories. If you are someone that doesn't exerecise or you exercise very little, then you would simply take you current weight and multiply by eight to find your mimimum caloric intake. A person that weighs 180 lbs would proceed in this fasion. 180 x 8 = 1440 which means this person would need at least 1400 calories per day. You should never take in your bare mimimum calorie level for more than 5 days in a row. You do not have to drop to your mimium calorie intake to lose weight, if you prefer you can add a zero to the end or your current weight, so the 180 lb individual would be allowed up to 1800 calories and still be able to lose weight. The calorie totals above are for those who either do not exercise or exercise very little.
For those who exercise regularly, you will want to add a higher total of calories to your diet. Males are allowed to add 1600 calories to their current weight with the zero added at the end eg. A male weighing 195 lbs would proceed as such. 195 add 0 at end = 1950 + 1600 = 3550 total daily calories for a male that exercises on a regular basis. A woman can follow the same procedure but should keep tha max added to 1200 calories . A woman weighing 120 lbs would proceed as such. 1200 + 1200 = 2400 daily caloric intake for a woman who exercises regularly. As your weight diminishes you'll want to remember to recalculate accordingly.
When I first started counting calories I found it easiest to use package foods to get an idea of how many calories are each serving. Plenty of supermarkets carry bagged fruit and vegetables with nutritional information available so you don't have to necessarily live off frozen foods when counting calories. Packaged foods are just a good place to start. There are plenty of cheap calorie counting guides that can be purchased for under $10.00 also there are many free calorie counters available on the web.
I have lost 10lbs in five weeks by using the method outlined above. I did this without exercise. Add exercise to the routine and you should get fit faster.
