First Aid For Eyes

16
Each eye injury has its own specific first aid technique to be employed.
Keeping these techniques in mind can preserve your vision or someone else's.
Here are some eye injuries you may get into and the first aid techniques you can use.
Bleeding from the Eyes Any trauma to the head or to the eye can result to bleeding of the eyes.
If you observe any occurrence of this situation where blood collects in the eye or coming from inside of the eye, use a clean cloth to cover the eye.
Call someone to assist you in doing this and accompany you to the nearest emergency room.
You may also call 911 if you are alone.
Exposure to Chemicals There are cases where accidental eye exposure to chemicals happens.
Make sure you remove contact lenses if you are wearing any.
Chemicals can accumulate in the cornea if you keep the lenses in your eyes after chemical exposure.
This can cause unnecessary damage and pain.
In cases where you suspect any chemical has entered your eye, flush them with cool water immediately.
Continue doing this for 15 minutes.
Ask for medical attention from the nearest emergency room instantaneously.
Take note of the chemical that your eyes were in contact with and bring the container with you to the clinic if possible.
Foreign Object in the Eye Do not try to rub your eyes if such thing happens.
This can further irritate your eye.
Instead, try to remove the particle if it is not embedded in the eye.
Make sure you seek immediate medical attention if the particle is.
