How to Mount and Install a TV
- 1). Find two vertical beams, or studs, in your wall, using a stud finder. Run the stud finder over the beams to determine their exact width and location, then mark an outline of them on the wall, using a pencil.
- 2). Hold the wall plate flat against the wall where you want the TV to hang. Make sure the mounting holes of the wall plate are over the wall beams. Insert the lag bolts through the mounting holes of the wall plate and tighten them, using a wrench.
- 3). Place the mounting brackets over the VESA holes on the back of the TV. Place the VESA screws through the brackets into the VESA holes and tighten them with a wrench. The VESA screws are little, but mighty. They are the standard for mounting all TVs.
- 4). Take the TV over to the wall plate. Position the TV so its attached brackets line up to the connectors on the wall plate, and hang it on the wall plate. Once it's in place, insert the security screw through the brackets into the wall plate.
- 5). Plug the power cord into the TV, and a wall outlet. Connect the antenna cable to the threaded RF connector labeled "Antenna In" on the TV. Turn the TV on, and select the language, set the date and select the antenna source. Once that's done, the TV will search for available channels. When the search is complete, so is the installation.
