How to Create Ringtones With an Instrument
- 1). Turn on your computer. Load your music recording software and create a new template for your ringtone. Go up to the "File" menu and click "Save As." You can save the file as "My Ringtone."
- 2). Plug your microphone into the back of your computer. Tap the microphone lightly to check that it is working properly. You will see a spike in the equalizer when you tap the microphone.
- 3). Grab your instrument and play a test note. Hold the note for about five seconds to get an accurate reading on the equalizer in your recording software. Adjust the microphone or the input level on your software if you are going into the red on your equalizer.
- 4). Press the "Record" button on your recording software and play your song. Press the "Stop" button when you are done.
- 5). Enlarge the screen so you can edit the dead space at the beginning and end of the file. Highlight the dead space with your mouse and then hit the "Delete" button on your keyboard.
- 6). Play the file to make sure you like it. Edit it accordingly until you have the perfect ringtone.
- 7). Go back to the "File" section at the top of your music editing software and click "Save As." A window will pop up for you to save your ringtone. In the bottom of the window make sure your file is in MP3 format.
- 8). Move your ringtone file from your documents to your desktop for easy access during transfer.
- 9). Plug your cell phone into your computer and load your cell phone's transfer protocol software. Upload the ringtone file to your cell phone's memory bank.

Go to the "Ringtone" section of your cell phone to choose a ringtone. Select the file that you have transferred. - 11
