How to Use a Leather and Lace Cutter
- 1). Cut a 1 1/2-inch-diameter hole into the middle of the leather piece with the leather knife.
- 2). Insert the grooved or slotted end of the lace cutter into the hole and set the leather on the slot that matches its thickness. Hold onto the leather with your thumb, index and middle fingers of your left hand. Hold the handle of the lace cutter with your right hand. Press the cutter into the leather so that the leather touches the blade in the slot. Pull the lace cutter towards you along the edge of the circular hole while you hold the leather still with your left hand. The lace cutter will cut a small strip or lace out of the leather.
- 3). Hold onto the strip or lace end with your left hand and pull it taut as you move the lace cutter through the leather in a counter-clockwise motion around the circular hole. Cut the lace until it is the desired length or you run out of leather.
