Early Signs of Pregnancy

51
So you have been planning a baby and are wondering if good news arrives soon. Here are some early signs of pregnancy, if you can't handle the wait!

Firstly, the signs differ from woman to woman, and not all experience the same signs or all signs. You may be pregnant and still not be able to spot some early signs.

1. One of the earliest signs of pregnancy is spotting. Spotting occurs just a few days after conception, when the egg that has been fertilized attaches itself to the uterine wall. The spotting is also called implantation bleeding, and could occur anywhere between six and 12 days post fertilization.

2. You could also experience some cramping, but you could easily mistake the cramping and spotting to menstruation. You could be misled to think it is PMS or premenstrual syndrome. The bleeding and cramping owing to implantation, is however, slight.

3. A white discharge from the vagina could also be a sign of early pregnancy because the walls start to thicken after conception.

4. The most crucial sign is a missed period.

5. A pain in the lower back or headaches could be one of the early signs as well.

6. Constipation, feeling bloated, a heightened sense of smell or nausea could set in rather early among some women.

7. Hormonal changes also cause sore breasts. There is also a darkening of the areola, the area around the nipples.

8. Fatigue can set in quite early on in the pregnancy. In fact, even as early as one week after conception, a woman may start to feel tired. She could have low BP, low sugar levels and feel dizzy.

9. Morning sickness, which is a feeling of nausea, is not a condition all women experience. Some women may not experience it early on, while some women may feel it quite at the beginning. Also, morning sickness may occur at any time of the day. Sometimes, nausea and aversion to food could last all through pregnancy, while sometimes it may lessen after the 13th or 14th week.

10. If you have been trying to conceive for a while now, you may be aware of tracking basal body temperature so as to understand the time of ovulation. If your BBT is high for over two weeks, it could be that you are pregnant.

11. Mood swings are another early sign of pregnancy, although you may experience severe mood variations when you have PMS as well.

12. If you have had to pay more than your normal number of visits to the bathroom recently, it could mean you could be pregnant.

13. Cravings are an invariable aspect of pregnancy, and if you have started to have unusual cravings, along with other signs, it could mean you are pregnant.

It is best to consult an expert at one of the pregnancy hospitals in Bangalore. Irrespective of whether you are pregnant or not, if you are seriously planning a baby, you should consult the best gynaecologist in Bangalore for advice.
