• Though it may take several weeks before the new graduate receives the actual copy of his diploma, chances are he'll want to show it off permanently when it arrives. Give the gift of a diploma frame so the graduate can display his new master's degree on the wall. Many schools sell customized frames with the school's emblem on the matting. • In certain career fields, people tend to display their name along with the degree received. For example, Jane Johnson, MSW for a master of social work. Other degrees where this may be done include MM for master of music and MBA for master of business administration. Purchase a personalized name plate with the new graduate's name and degree for use at her new job or in her home office. • School alumni organizations can provide employment assistance, networking opportunities and opportunities to attend social events in addition to providing a way for new graduates to stay connected to their alma mater.
