From a Texan's Perspective, OPI's New Texas Collection Doesn't Disappoint
I was born and bred in Texas and like most Texans, I'm very proud of my home state so when OPI announced that in February, it will be launching a new collection of shades based on the Lone Star State, I was thrilled. The shades, created around the colors found in the state's varied topography (greens, browns, pinks, coral, silvers and metallic turquoise) don't disappoint. Known for their kitschy names, OPI has gone all out with this collection such as Austin Tatious (pictured here), a metallic turquoise, perfect for the state's most cultured city.
Y'all Come Back You Hear?
Y'all Come Back You Hear? is a bright coral. I'm relieved OPI knows how to correctly spell 'y'all'.
Don't Mess With OPI
Don't Mess With OPI is green like the grasses of the Texas hill country right around April when the bluebonnets are in full bloom.
I Want To Be A Lone Star
I Want To Be A Lone Star is a very light blue, reminiscent of the Texas skies just before a rainstorm.
It's Totally Fort Worth It
It's Totally Fort Worth It is an icy light blue/gray that I covet for my fingernails.
San Tan-Tonio
San Tan-Tonio is a light brown shade that reminds me of refried beans -- in a good way.
Suzi Loves Cowboys
Suzi Loves Cowboys is a deep magenta brown -- the color of a new saddle.
Do You Think I'm Texy?
Do You Think I'm Texy? is a deep pink/purple that would look great peeking out on toes in the sands of South Padre Island.
Houston, We Have Purple
Houston, We Have Purple is really, really purple. And a nice one at that.
Big Hair Big Nails
Guy Meets Galveston is a bright pink, something you'd wear while holding a margarita in July.
Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em
Big Hair Big Nails is the Texan version of the perfect red. Sorta candy apple-ish.
Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em is just the color a Texan would wear while raking in money on a weekend trip to Vegas.
