How to Get Started With MTA Map Editor
- 1). Download and install a free copy of MTA. Start MTA, and then click on the "Map Editor" in the game's main menu.
- 2). Click on the "Create a new map" option to begin work on a new map, or click on the "Open existing map" option to edit an existing map from your computer.
- 3). Press the "F" key on your keyboard to toggle the Map Editor's view between "Camera" and "Cursor" mode.
- 4). Use the "W," "S," "A" and "D" keys on your keyboard to navigate the map while in "Camera" mode.
- 5). Select objects from the Elements menu to add them to your map -- toggle your view to "Cursor" mode. For example, you'd click on the "Create a new pickup" button to add a new pickup point on the map. Left-click on the area on the map where you'd like to add your object.
- 6). Double-click on the newly-added object to edit its appearance. Select the desired appearance options from the object's properties menu. You can change things like color and model.
- 7). Click on the "Save" button in the Map Editor's toolbar to save progress on your map.
