How to Make Marbleized Notecards
- 1). Cover the table you will be working on completely. Pour cold water into a pan filling about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. Choose the colors you wish to combine. Add drops of paint into the water, one at a time in different areas. The paint will spread and float on the water.
- 2). Using your toothpick, swirl the paint around in the pan, making sure to pull your toothpick through the spots of colors to get them to combine and feather.
- 3). Starting at one end of the tray, and "rolling the paper down, place it in the water. You want the paper to be flat in the treay over the paint, but not under the surface. It should float.Gently lift the paper by one corner, allowing the water to drain. All of the paint that was in the pan should now be on your paper.
- 4). Lay the paper down on a flat surface and allow to dry. Once dry, cover with waxed paper and press flat with heavy book at least overnight.Once the paper is completely dry and is flat, cut it to the appriate size for your card or project. If creating a card, once cut, fold carefully in half. You will be able to write on the unpainted side of the card.
