How to Add a Search to the Start Menu in Vista Home
- 1). Click on the "Start" button and then click on "Run". A new window will appear. Type "Regedit", and then click the "OK" button. Another new window will appear.
- 2). Open the "Find" directory on the left pane by clicking on "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT", followed by "Directory" and finally "shell". Once "find" is highlighted, a "REG_SZ: 'LegacyDisable' value" will appear on the right side of the window.
- 3). Highlight the "REG_SZ: 'LegacyDisable' value" file and right-click. Select "Delete" from the sub-menu and then exit the registry editing tool. When you press the "Start" button next, the search bar should appear automatically.
