About Daffy Duck
- Daffy first appeared in the 1937 short "Porky's Duck Hunt." He served as the nemesis for Porky Pig--Warner's biggest cartoon star at the time.
- Daffy's voice originated with the great Mel Blanc, who provided the voices for most Warners characters. The voice was purportedly based on that of Warners' producer Leon Schlesinger.
- In the 1940s under animator Fritz Freleng and others, Daffy was a lunatic figure, forever confounding straight men like Porky and Elmer Fudd.
- With the arrival of animator Chuck Jones in the 1950s, Daffy's role changed. He now served the part of the straight man to characters like Bugs and Porky.
- In addition to short films and compilations, Daffy appeared in several feature-length motion pictures, including "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" "Space Jam" and "Looney Tunes: Back in Action."
