As a result, a number of campaigns have been launched in an effort to battle the high numbers of registered drug use in the state.
January 7, 2009 Broadcasters in Colorado team together to air the documentary film "Child help Crystal Darkness".
"Child help Crystal Darkness" is a drug campaign film that started in the state of Nevada.
The teamwork of local broadcasters enabled this film to be aired on nearly every television station in the state of Colorado at the same time, 6:30 p.

The Telly and Emmy Award winning film is geared towards fighting against the use of methamphetamines.
"Child help Crystal Darkness" was filmed in the state of Colorado in October of 2008.
Special features included in the film are interviews with Governor Bill Ritter, First Lady Jeannie Ritter, and Attorney General John Suthers, other community leaders, local law enforcement officials, local recovered meth addicts, and meth recovery specialists.
The 30 minute documentary film is still available for purchase through the Crystal Darkness website.
