How to Compost Shrimp
- 1). Place the shrimp pieces into your compost bin until it is full enough to take it to your compost pile. You can add your regular kitchen scraps in your compost bin along with your shrimp.
- 2). Use the shovel to dig a hole 1 or 2 feet into your compost pile. The deeper you bury the shrimp, the less likely it will be to attract animals.
- 3). Place the shrimp and other items from your compost bin at the bottom of the hole.
- 4). Fill the hole back in with the compost you previously removed, completely covering the shrimp layer.
- 5). Continue to compost as usual, being careful not to unearth the shrimp until it has thoroughly decomposed -- usually a season or two.
