Call In The Exterminators!

37
Most of us have some problems when it comes to bugs around the home.
We just hate the thought of having something crawling around us in our beds or living rooms, and this is where we always want to know what to do when different pests get to be too much.
Most people will settle for three or four months checkups regularly but if the problem is acute then a monthly treatment may be necessary.
Naturally, there is always a necessity to call in the experts when there is a problem like termites.
These tough little characters are so devious that they can tunnel more than half an acre away from their nest to get food.
So that odd squirt of chemical in the house really only delays the inevitable, and that is, they will be back with a vengeance.
In fact, these little insects even leave perfume trails along their tunnels to show others where there is a good food source.
What most people do not realize is that these insects also tunnel across immovable objects, like cement and metal, to get to where they are going.
If anyone has ever seen those little brown lines across floors and up walls, well these are the above ground tunnels that are made by the termites to facilitate movement under cover.
These days though, there are some great new innovations on the market which allows for less disruption on the property than was previously necessary.
Before, a large trench had to be dug all around the house or building and this would be about three to five feet deep.
Into this went gallons of watered down chemicals in the hope that it would create a barrier to stop the varmints getting in.
These days there are systems which allow for discreet tubes to be pushed into the ground which act as feeding stations for the insects and they are actually monitored by computer.
The company will actually monitor when and where the food is taken from the feeding station and act accordingly.
They will put more food where there is a lot of activity and less where there is less.
But the good thing about this is that the direction of the nest can be worked out.
Since these workers carry the poisoned food back to the nest it is highly likely that the queen will be killed off eventually.
Once she is dead, the whole colony will die because no more worker termites will be born and eventually it will fade into oblivion.
As in all things, whenever a company is employed to carry out this kind of work, it is imperative to get guarantees that the pests will be finished off for good, or that the company will keep coming back until they are eradicated.
For people who think that they can get away with doing all this work themselves, do not forget that the chemicals used are highly toxic and will surely damage pets or even children if care is not taken.
