How to Set a Password Before You Log Into the Computer
- 1). Sign in to the administrator account. Click the "Start" button in the Windows task bar. Click "Control Panel."
- 2). Click "User Accounts" or "User Accounts and Family Safety" if you're using Windows Vista. Click the name of the account for which you want to set the password.
- 3). Click "Create A Password For Your Account." Enter the password and enter a password hint that only you will remember if you forget the password. Click "Create Password." If you're using Windows XP, you will be asked if you want to make files and folders private for the account. Select "Yes" or "No" according to your preferences. Next time the user signs into the account, he will be prompted for the password.
