How to Install Competition Engineering Springs
- 1). Jack the rear of the vehicle up and place jack stands under the frame, allowing the axle housing to hang free. Place the jack under the axle on either side under the shock support and jack the axle up about 3 inches.
- 2). Remove the bottom bolt for the shock. Lower the jack and let the axle hang on the side you lifted.
- 3). Pull down on the axle housing to release the spring tension; remove the spring. Remove the upper rubber isolator on the frame. Make sure that you have the new spring in the upright position (not upside down). The springs should be marked to designate "This side up."
- 4). Install the upper rubber isolator on the spring top, taking note of the previous position denoted by a definite depression in the rubber where the end of the spring was positioned.
- 5). Install the spring into the upper spring saddle and pull down on the axle housing enough to fit the spring into the bottom cup. Jack the axle up sufficiently to insert the bolt into the shock mount.
- 6). Tighten the bolt in the shock mount and lower the axle. Follow the same procedure for the opposite side.
