Deafness in Indian Cinema

12
There is a difference between boys and men.
It cannot be measured by any scale, and does not depend on how many beers you can drink or how much weight you can bench press.
It all depends on the integrity and the position you put yourself in when a problem arises.
The way you handle yourself on a situation is very reflective of the character of the person who is on that predicament.
Split second decisions is what the movie Thoranai is all about.
The plot is about a boy who was born with a disability that rendered him deaf.
The combnwtion of his desire to be seen as strong and the need to be accepted by his peers the main character blah blah dedicates his life to the art of fighting.
He starts in the streets and soon get discovered by the local wise man who grooms him for the national tournament; the top prize was over 90 crores; and most importantly it got him respect within the community.
The crisis occurs when his opponent turns out to be his long lost brother, whom he was separated at birth.
To make things even more complicated they both share a love interest, who is caught in between a love triangle.
There are a lot of unknown actors in this movie, which leaves a lot of room for budding superstars to shine.
I am excited to see this movie, because the Tamil cinema industry usually shies away from main characters who have disabilities.
