23
Meditation is an amazing method that can help relieve people off their stress. In a way, it also helps a person avoid high blood pressure, heart diseases, diabetes, digestive problems such as irritable bowel syndrome as well as depression.

However, many individuals who try meditation would often discontinue after a few sessions because, they feel that it's ineffective. Most of these individuals stop too early, according to studies, these people stop after 3 to 5 sessions.

Nevertheless, once you start meditating, it is very important to muster all your patience and always motivate yourself to practice it. If you are a beginner, here are some of the techniques that will help you with your meditation.

1st Pick a room where you can meditate. You can create a room entirely dedicated for meditation or if you don't have the budget yet, you may try meditating inside your own bedroom.

2nd Choose a specific time for meditation and then, make sure to stick to it.

3rd Make sure that there's no one around to bother you when you're meditating. You won't be able to concentrate when there's someone who's constantly calling your attention.

4th Make sure to create a soothing atmosphere inside your meditation room. Also, make sure that the place is neat and organized. Light a candle or burn incense to help you calm the place.

5th Ensure that all you need for your meditation is within your reach.

6th Think about how long you need to meditate. Usually, beginners need to meditate for about 10 minutes every day. Then, as you progress, you can extend your meditation time up to 20 minutes.

7th Properly position yourself for meditation. Most types of meditation require staying still. Now, there are two usual positions in meditation; lying on your back and sitting position. But, since you are a beginner, it will be wise to go with the sitting position so as to avoid falling asleep as you meditate.

8th Start your meditation by focusing on your breathing. Breathe in through your nose, hold it in for at least 5 seconds and exhale through your mouth. Repeat this all throughout your meditation.

9th Try your best to relax, and then, clear your mind of all the things that are happening around you.

10th Direct your consciousness to the middle of your eyebrows while you inhale and exhale.
