Bathroom Remodel Designing Ideas
- Not all bathroom remodeling jobs must go through this stage, but be prepared if you want a complete overhaul.32 year old bathroom image by Russell Espinoza from Fotolia.com
Remodeling a bathroom can be a trying experience, and this is doubly so if the bathroom being upended is the only one in the house. The results of a creatively inspired redecorating project can be worth it, however, because it is important to remember how much of your life is actually spent in this most utilitarian of household rooms. Keep in mind that remodeling a bathroom differs substantially from remodeling a living room or bedroom, because you must always consider the layout of current pipes, sewage drains and exhaust ducts. - A remodeling plan for your bathroom may take into consideration another room as well. Think about how you could unify your master bedroom or another bedroom with an existing bathroom. Bring in a contractor to determine the feasibility of replacing a portion of an existing wall with French doors that lead from the bedroom into the bath. The naturally flowing ambience could then be enhanced with matching wainscoting in both rooms and the installation of an arched or round window inside the bathroom.
- "Bathroom Design and Planning 1-2-3" recommends that the room be at least 15 by 15 feet before considering the installation of a large whirlpool tub. You should always bring in an expert to determine not only if you have enough room to add a whirlpool, but whether your floor can accommodate it. Recessed lighting directly overhead with dimming capacity allows this luxurious bathroom addition to then be illuminated brightly for kids or romantically for obliging two adult bodies. The effect is completed by adding a window made of glass block cubes.

Bathroom remodeling doesn't have to include any changes to the existing fixtures, which can save tremendous amounts of money. Another way to save money is by haunting the junk shops and yard sales and buying different kinds of wall tile. No rule exists that your bathroom tile has to match. Look for interesting designs and shapes and patterns and create a crazy quilt effect that combines the traditional with the avant-garde and the vibrantly colored with the monochromatic. - The sterile future envisioned often in dystopian movies can be recreated entirely within your newly remodeled bathroom by going all stainless-steel, polished chrome or brushed nickel. You can get tubs, cabinets, heated towel racks and showers made of these industrial materials.
- You can create the exact opposite effect by installing wood veneer that covers the entire wall area as well as your cabinets and toilet seat. The veneer instantly invokes a traditional ambience that is completely at odds with all that industrial metal in the above remodeling plan. If you love the woodsy feel and have the money, consider installing a genuine wood vanity with Victorian-style gold-plated wall-mounted faucets. The traditional effect would be completed by taking out the existing tub and replacing it with an antique roll-top tub that makes lounging much more comfortable.
