Living Right
What does it take to live right? Well it takes discipline and determination for to live right.
Also, one needs a committed heart to live right consistently.
It's not easy but with the right amount to faith it's doable.
So, living right can become a life style.
It can become our badge of courage to face the challenges of life.
A goal of living right is well worth the challenge.
It will give us a sense of well being and purpose.
It takes love of self and others to get this done.
When we read about great people, and how they overcame obstacles, it can inspire us to do our best.
A very good practice would be to read something positive and uplifting every day.
One inspiration source of reading material is the bible or scriptures.
There are many examples of challenges faced by ordinary people of faith that were able to win over their situations.
So it is encouraging to read every day.
Plus, it provides an exhilarating exercise for the mind.
Try it.
Another quality of living right is to have a time of solitude.
We don't need to always be doing something.
We live in a society that says being still is wrong and non productive.
Society tells us we have to be doing something to be happy, but this not true.
Some of our greatest moments in life come from just learning to be quiet, to listen to a train in distance running along the railroad tracks, to hear the birds making melodies in the trees, to see children playing in the park and to take walks early in morning.
The next item for to living right is to do some form of meditation.
Meditation is nothing spooky or scary.
In short, in its essence, it's a way of focusing.
Some would say to focus on positive verses or part of the bible.
For example, Yahweh is my strength, he is my joy, Yahweh is a very present help, and greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
From my experience it is best to do meditation in the early morning when we are just waking up when the house is quiet.
Some may prefer to meditate in the evening hours after work when the body begins to slow down.
The main point is meditation will help you to live right by targeting positive thoughts.
In order to keep living right it's best to have fellowship with other people of a like mind.
In other words, develop relationships with other positive people.
If we think of preachers, we see a great source of intelligence and experience.
Also, if think of the elderly, we will find a wealth of knowledge and wisdom.
There other professions that are teaming with people of integrity and knowledge that are more than willing to help us to live right.
Some of life's positive professions are teachers, police, engineers, doctors, fireman and civil service workers.
So it's critical to understand the importance of fellowship.
To live right it's important to be a good neighbor.
By being a good neighbor, it means to be concerned about your fellow man.
We may have to give up a coat in the winter time to a homeless person.
We may have to give up our seat on the train to an elderly person.
We may have to help someone who has been robbed.
We may have to read to someone that can't read so they can have the joy of hearing the spoken word.
Or we may have to take someone to the hospital that is dying or very sick.
Lastly, but not finally, these are just some of the things that can help us to live right.
