How to Ski in Whistler, BC
- Whistler lies north of the city of Vancouver, a two-hour drive up the Sea-to-Sky Highway. Fly into Vancouver International Airport and rent a car. For a cheaper alternative, take the Whistler Shuttle Bus, which provides a regular service from the airport to the resort.
- The villages of Whistler and Blackcomb lie at the base of the mountains bearing the same names and provide ample accommodation choices, from hostels and basic inns all the way up to luxury chalets and timeshares, some of which even allowing ski-in/ski-out possibilities. All accommodations can be booked through Whistler's official website.
- A single lift ticket provides access to both the Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. You can ski from Blackcomb to the base of Whistler via a short run, or take the dramatic Peak-to-Peak gondola at the very top of either mountain.
- Take the Whistler gondola first thing in the morning and warm up on the easier slopes of Whistler mountain. Near midday, take the peak chair to the very top of Whistler for some stunning views and a greater challenge. Move over to Blackcomb in the afternoon and take in as many intermediate runs as you can.
