How to Find Wants & Warrants

17
    • 1). Go to the district court in the county you believe there is a warrant. Ask the clerk of the court if there is an arrest warrant for you or another person. The clerk will give you information if the warrant is in your name, but may or may not give you information on another person.

    • 2). Ask a member of law enforcement about a want or warrant. If the warrant is issued in your name, you will be arrested by the law enforcement official on the spot. The official may or may not give you want and warrant information about another person.

    • 3). Hire a defense attorney to search court records for want and warrants. The attorney will charge a fee but will be able to search court records without running the risk of exposing you or a loved one to being arrested.

    • 4). Use an Internet search engine to scour wants and warrant databases around the country. You must pay a membership fee, but you will not be exposed to being arrested if the warrant is in your name. You may search the database for information on other people.
