Not Sure If You Want to Start a Tropical Freshwater Fish Aquarium? Then Do This Test First
You may be aware that lots of folk start a new hobby with passion and enthusiasm only to give up just a few weeks later bad mouthing that same hobby.
The number one reason for this is lack of research prior to starting.
If you want to start a tropical freshwater fish aquarium but you're not quite sure then take this test to know if it's right for you or not.
When people know that this hobby is for them I always tell them to buy the large tanks first because that is eventually what they will end up buying anyway and so this saves them money in the long run.
With you however, you're not 100% convinced are you, so for you it's different.
To the unconverted I would say without a doubt do not buy the biggest tank you can get because you don't even know yet if you will continue in the hobby.
Better to do this.
First spend some time reading up on what exactly you have to do when starting a freshwater fish aquarium.
This is vital as you need that information to avoid the common mistakes folk make which in turn puts them off the hobby altogether.
Buy one of the smallest tanks which may cost only about £15 ($25) and with the knowledge you have gained prior to purchase, set up your new tank with substrate, decorations and of course a fish or two.
Now as the weeks go by and you're maintaining your new aquarium tank you will of course get the feel for the hobby and whether it is something you would like to do on a larger, more realistic scale.
When you decide this is for you, which I am sure you will because you would have done it with proper research, then you can sell your small tank, keep all the decorations, filter and plants etc and go get yourself a tank that's a real good 'un.
So go on, give it a try, save yourself lots of money and make sure that starting a tropical freshwater fish aquarium is for you.
If you do this correctly with that research I was talking about earlier then you really can't go wrong.
And more than that, you'll have a wonderful and rewarding hobby which will last you a life time.
