How to Add a Computer to a Domain in Vista
- 1). Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel." Double click the "System and Maintenance" icon and then double click "System." This opens a new window with your system properties.
- 2). Click the "Change Settings" link in the main system screen. This opens a new window where you can edit the domain settings and add the Vista computer.
- 3). Click the "Computer Name" tab. In this window, click the "Change" button to open a new window. Enter the domain name into the text box labeled "Member of." Click the "Ok" button.
- 4). Enter the administrator user name and password and click the "Ok" button. Click "Ok" again in the main system properties window.
- 5). Reboot the Vista machine. The next time the user boots the machine, the machine is added to the domain and the user can log in to the domain.
