How to Change a MOD File Extension on a JVC Video
- 1). Open the "Start" menu on your computer and select "Computer" or "My Computer." Double-click the "C:" drive if the MOD file is stored directly on the system's hard drive. If the MOD file is stored on an external storage unit, such as a thumb drive or external hard drive, plug the drive into a USB port on the computer and select the drive letter of the external device instead of the "C:" drive.
- 2). Navigate to the folder in which the MOD file is stored on the computer. Once you are inside the folder, right-click on the MOD file to bring up the context menu.
- 3). Select "Rename" from the list of options provided. The menu disappears and the file name appears highlighted.
- 4). Click in the highlighted area to move your cursor to the file name box, and use the arrow keys to move the cursor to right after the dot (.) in the file name. Use the "Delete" key on the keyboard to remove the "mod" extension from the name.
- 5). Type "mpg" or "avi" after the dot in place of "mod." Click anywhere outside of the name box to make the extension change take effect.
