How to Connect Multiple Guitar Effects Pedals
- 1). Lay your pedals on the floor in front of you. Choose an arrangement that allows you to access each pedal easily.
- 2). Plug them in. Each pedal should have a jack on either side of it, or two on the back. Each jack will either be labeled "IN" or "OUT." Plug one long cord into one of the pedal's "OUT" jack and the other end of that cord into the amplifier input.
- 3). Continue hooking up each pedal using the short cords to attach the "OUT" jack of one pedal to the "IN" jack of the other. You should end up with a sort of daisy chain of pedals.
- 4). Plug the other long cord into your guitar and put the other end into the "IN" jack of the first pedal in the sequence.
- 5). Turn on the amplifier and start testing each pedal in turn. One at a time, turn the pedal on and make sure that the volume doesn't change from the dry signal from pedal to pedal. Set up the equalization options on each pedal (there are usually a few knobs).
