Setting the Anti Scalding on a Delta Shower

    • 1). Turn the shower knob or handle all the way to the left shutting off the water. Check the shower knob cap for a screw underneath or look at the handle’s side round setscrew. The particular model’s construction determines which tool to use.

    • 2). Pop off the Delta knob cap to extract the screw underneath. If your model does not have a cap and screw, use an Allen wrench to loosen the setscrew on the handle’s side.

    • 3). Pull the handle or knob off exposing the valve assembly.

    • 4). Pull the circular plate on the valve’s front forward to the locked position using the needle-nose pliers. You can now see the gearlike wheel for the antiscald feature underneath the circular plate.

    • 5). Pull the gear wheel forward with the pliers. Rotating the wheel clockwise increases the amount of hot water or counterclockwise decreases the flow. Each notch in the wheel alters the overall water temperature by 10 to 16 degrees.

    • 6). Push in the gear wheel to the new position and press the circular plate on top of it locking the new setting.

    • 7). Slide the knob or handle onto the valve stem and secure it with the screwdriver or Allen wrench, depending on the model.
