But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing—and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar. Disney's Planes - Fun for Families
- Read more about the Disney's Planes characters.
- Planes stems from the same world as Disney's Cars movies, so if your kiddos are young and haven't watched the Cars movies yet, you can introduce them to the automobile characters before they meet the planes. One caution, Cars 2 has some violent and perilous scenes for a "G" movie, so if your little one is sensitive, you may want to preview that one first to make sure it won't be too unsettling.
- Kids get excited about movies, which means it's easy for us parents to work in a little educational value without the kids even noticing it. Use your child's excitement about planes to help him learn more about aviation, how planes work and all the different kinds of planes.
- These books about the Wright Brothers will fascinate kids and help them learn a little history of aviation. Also check the local library or book stores for more books about planes or that have planes as characters.
- Learn even more about planes and flight with hands-on crafts and activities. Of course, a good old paper airplane is a great place to start. Kids get a kick out of making something that can fly. You can also make a more sturdy styrofoam airplanes or help kids create their own plane character.
- Check out the Disney's Planes website to learn more about the movie.
