Exterior

• Spruce up the outside of your old trailer house. Replace or paint the siding. Updated the skirting. Plant a few flowers or shrubs around the skirting. • Update your paneling. Use a paint or stain designed for your type of paneling to give your old trailer house a new look. Select lighter shades to make the rooms look larger. Use faux painting techniques to add depth, texture, visual interest and dimension to the walls of your old trailer.

• Modernize your flooring. Try a wood laminate that would mimic the look of hard wood floors in your living room and bedrooms. Replace your old carpet to complement the new color of walls. Remove the old flooring in your kitchen. Use a solid or large tile-like laminate to make your kitchen appear larger.
  
  

Window Treatments

• Replace your old curtains and draperies with sleek, more modern window treatments. Use solid fabrics. Place the curtains rods above the actual window to make your windows look longer. Hang sheer curtains to allow natural light into your old trailer house when you tie back you're your draperies.
  
  

Lighting

• Update your light fixtures. Use contemporary globes. Replace all your light bulbs with low watt, frosted bulbs to give off a softer light. Add track lighting. Replace regular light switches in your dining room, living room and bedroom with dimmer switchers.
