Pollution In China - Take a Look at Beijing First

23
Now then, I am out in California where our government is dead set on reducing the amount of pollution in the air.
They say that out pollution has increased by 1% despite all the dramatic cuts they've done to prevent it from getting worse.
Okay so, here's another piece of information for you; 1% of the pollution in California is blowing over here from China.
We know this because we are monitoring the type of pollution in the air, and we don't have any coal-fired electricity plants which put out a certain type of soot or particulate which can be now all of a sudden be found along our coastline.
Further, the prevailing wind blows the other way.
So, we know it's coming from China, as that particular it in the air could not have been produced here in California, and not in Oregon, Washington, or even British Columbia Canada.
The reality is it's coming from China and we know it.
Of course, pollution doesn't just stop because someone puts up a border fence, or the countries change names.
Still, to think that the pollution from China is floating all the way across the Pacific Ocean into California is rather alarming it to think about it.
There was an interesting article in the New York Times recently titled; "Leaked Cables Offer Glimpses Into Relations of U.
S.
and China," by Michael Wines which was published on September 4, 2001 which stated; "This capital city's skies were clogged with pollution, China's government was concerned.
So it summoned officials of the American Embassy for a meeting.
But the session had nothing to do with hazy skies.
Chinese officials were peeved that the Americans were monitoring pollution themselves, and posting on Twitter, their more precise findings, which usually judged the smog far worse than official Chinese readings.
Chinese officials feared the conflicting information "might lead to social consequences," an American Embassy cable quoted the officials as saying.
So could the Americans please block Chinese citizens from visiting the Web site?" There was another piece on this in Google News September 4, 2011: "Propaganda authorities take over Beijing papers," (AFP) which stated something similar.
Now then, we can have a legitimate dialogue on global warming, or CO2 output caused by mankind if we will not address the real issues.
Basically, China wants the United States to censor its pollution data, so they don't look bad for what they are doing.
They want their data to be the official data, even though it is manipulated.
So I ask, what else are they manipulating? Indeed, I would submit to you that they are manipulating financial data, trade data, agricultural data, health data, economic data, demographic data, resource and raw material data, and even information on their military to the United States, the rest of the world, and obviously on the Internet.
The United States is a pretty transparent country, and although we are not without a little bit of finagling in our data, for the most part we are very close.
It seems like an unbalanced playing field with regards to transparency.
We require over disclosure for our corporations, banks, and government.
That data is being used against us, and all we have coming out of China is false and fake data, which they seem to readily admit, and want us to cover their tracks for them.
No can do.
At least that's the way I feel about it, if we are going to have free and fair trade in the world, and we are all going to get along, that we need to come to a consensus on ethics, honesty, integrity, and truthfulness in empirical data.
