Get funnier - how to tell jokes better

52
Everyone always wants to know how to tell a good joke, make a witty comeback, or drop a diss in a way that could rock the crowd. There are a few tricks to delivering like a comedian and a few steadfast rules to live by that can help to make you "funnier' than you thought you could be. The first and most important thing to do when dropping a diss, joke, or insult is to have content.

There are a few great sites out there for finding jokes (not to shamelessly plug my site here, but disses.net has great content). A few of our favorites are below:

-Your mother is so fat, China uses her to block the internet

-I'd like to see things from your perspective but I can't get my head that far up my butt

-Polish my nuts and serve me a milkshake And the list can go on.

The most important things are

1) that you have ammunition (comedic ammunition) and

2) that you think it is funny.

Once you have had a chance to begin thinking about giving your joke it is time to perform. For some this can be the scariest part or the moment of truth, but for others this is seamless and easy.

For those of you who don't know how to tell a joke, a steadfast go to/standby for something like this is merely to tell the joke as fast as possible. When people mess up jokes it is usually by screwing up timing, intonation or some other sense of where and how to tell a joke. By telling a joke quickly, you actually prevent yourself from becoming too caught up in the mechanics of the joke, and free yourself to tell the joke as basically funny as possible. For those of you who want to go all out, there are a few key ideas. The first is that you have to believe the joke is funny.

Don't laugh at your own joke, but knowing that the joke is funny can seriously help your A-game. The second is all about the delivery and timing. Some people go all out and get loud and aggressive, while others merely focus on being sly and not letting others no it is a joke. The trick is always to deliver the punchline with ease and confidence. And the rest, is easy as they say.
