General Hospital Daily Recap for April 17, 2012
Sonny asks Kate about what happened between her and Jason. Kate states "the person who said those things wasn't me." Sonny of course misinterprets what she's saying, "One moment is not who you are." Their conversation is interrupted by Sonny receiving a phone call that the verdict is in. Kate takes the lifeline and says what she has to tell him can wait. They state their love for one another; Kate hopes he never forgets that he does love her.
At Michael's apartment, Michael reveals to Starr that Sonny believes she is using him, trying to influence his testimony. "That isn't what happened," Starr says. Carly arrives, and Michael is unable to keep her out of the apartment.
Carly is very surprised to see Starr, and more surprised to find out that she's staying with Michael. Carly wants to be sure that Michael understands that Johnny did not set up Sonny - she was with him all night. She thinks a bond between Starr and Michael is great, and warns them not to let the verdict change their relationship. Then each one gets a call that the verdict is in.
As Heather and Jason meet face to face, Alexis answers her phone. Heather says they have some catching up to do, but Jason disagrees. "There's something you need to know about your wife," Heather claims. Steve indicates to Jason that he doesn't know anything about it.
"I understand you were in the room when I was born," Jason says. Heather talks about how Susan had no one to help her and that there were "complications." Right, a big one.
Alexis announces that the verdict is in. Heather turns to her. "We're having a conversation. We would like some privacy." Yeah, and there they are, talking outside. With Jason and Alexis gone, Steve and Heather enter Kelly's and Heather talks in circles. Poor Susan passed out. Steve doesn't get anything out of her.
Everyone gathers at the courthouse. Dante and Johnny have an argument. Carly enters and sits with Johnny. Michael and Starr sit together. The judge and jury enter. Sonny is found not guilty. I'm not surprised, I'm surprised they even brought charges. A gun, not his, found in his girlfriend's office? Come on.
Sonny is relieved, Kate is thrilled, and Jason congratulates Sonny. Starr becomes hysterical and screams at Sonny that he is guilty. She leaves, swearing that he will pay. Johnny is disgusted that Sonny got away with something again. Sonny believes that Johnny set him up, and says that he can't believe she's spending any time with him. Johnny attempts to attack Sonny when he mentions Claudia's name, but Jason grabs him. Johnny is ripping mad. Suddenly, Carly looks at him with a strange look in her eyes. "Did you do it?" she asks.
At the police station, Delores, Dante, and Lulu are discussing the stripper beatings as Johnny enters the station. Johnny is invited to look at the photos found in the closet of Eddie, Delores' husband. They are photos of women who worked at Vaughan's and beaten by the attacker. Delores becomes defensive about Eddie, stating that he did not hurt those women. After all, she was attacked as well.
Lulu doesn't think it's a good idea for everyone to be fighting out in the open, so she goes to hunt for an empty interrogation room. Dante and Ronnie want Delores to reveal Eddie's whereabouts. While Dante answers the phone, Delores pulls Johnny aside. She demands that he make good on their deal, and lets it be known that she upheld her end by getting info on Sonny's case.
Later, Delores confronts Lulu, who thinks she has tampered with evidence. Delores explains that she was looking at cold cases because her sister was killed, and any time someone is beating up women, she looks for a pattern. It is very personal to her. Lulu apologizes.
Eddie is brought into PCPD in handcuffs, having been located. He swears to his wife that he isn't responsible for the attacks, and that he never saw the photos found in his closet. Lulu wonders if he's truly guilty after seeing his demeanor.
Dante returns with the news that Sonny is not guilty. Dante is glad, but not completely satisfied. There is something missing in that case.
Sam is on the pier with John McBain as she holds the paternity results in her hand. She's terrified to open the envelope. McBain wonders if she could live without knowing. He reminds her that secrets come out sooner or later. Sam thinks back to how happy Jason was when he looked at the sonogram, and it tears her apart. McBain encourages her to tell Jason everything - before Heather does. He agrees to stay with her while she looks at the results.
Sam opens the envelope. "It's Franco's," she cries. McBain holds her as she sobs. Jason calls to tell her about the verdict, and Sam holds it together while telling him that she needs to see him at home.
At Sonny, Kate wants to call a restaurant so that they can celebrate, but Sonny thinks that can wait. He wants to know what she was going to tell him.
