How to Design a School Badge
- 1). Brainstorm and write down all of the things you want your badge to convey, such as scholarly effort and achievement, academic prowess, community, honor, pride or even social position.
- 2). Decide on your symbols. For instance, if you're going to use the school colors in your badge, find out what they represent. If you have a school motto, decide if you want to use it as words, or if you'd rather portray the feeling of the motto through symbols. If you have a school mascot, it may be appropriate to work it into the badge.
- 3). Put all of your symbols together into a badge. As an example, let's say that a school's colors are red and black, their mascot is a wolf, and they want their badge to represent academic excellence as well as athletic achievement. The badge could be a shield split in half with one side in red and the other in black, with the picture of a scroll on one side and a picture of laurel leaves on the other. The shield could have a snarling wolf's head over the top representing a totem of the school's strength.
