How to Create a Windows Vista 32-Bit Startup Disk to Troubleshoot a Computer
- 1). Visit the Neosmart Web site, which hosts the Windows Vista 32-bit startup disk ISO file. (See Resources.) Right-click the link to the ISO file, and click "Save" or "Save As" to download the file and save it to your hard drive. Take note of where you've saved the file.
- 2). If you don't already have software that can write an ISO file to a blank CD, download and install a free program that can save the ISO file to a blank CD, such as ImgBurn or ISO Recorder. (See Resources.)
- 3). Insert a blank CD into your CD drive. If the "Autoplay" window pops up, simply close it.
- 4). Run the CD creation software that you've chosen by double-clicking its program icon. After the program has opened, select the ISO file that you've saved on your hard drive by choosing the "File" or "Browse" option and navigating to the saved file.
- 5). Click the "OK" or "Burn CD" button to write the ISO file onto the blank CD. When the process is finished, remove your new startup disk and store it somewhere safe for future use.
