It Had To Be You
It had to be you. It had to be you. I wandered around and finally found somebody who. When Frank Sinatra sang those lyrics he was singing about a woman. But in today's world it had to be you means "YOU."
It's tough out there now. Folks are out of work. People are struggling. Housing prices have come down. You're home's not worth what it was five years ago. You couldn't sell it if you wanted to. But who is going to move us forward? You. You will be well, keep your head, and get through this, and you will be stronger for it.
Politicians are trying to inject money into our financial system in hopes of a jump starting our economy. That may help, but in the end it's not going to be the politicians who move us forward it's going to be you and me. You and I will create the jobs, hire the people, figure out how to balance the books, fight the wars, feed the children, and take care of the seniors.
When things get better you'll look back and know it had to be you. I look around every day and I see people struggling, and thinking, and taking little steps forward. It's like when you were little and the car broke down. Your dad didn't look around and ask who was going to fix it. He looked to himself. I said one day, "Dad I never knew who was going to fix the car, but I knew it had to be you."
Now folks this is not new. Back in 1929 people were probably thinking the same things. Who's gonna fix it? Everyone knew it would take a collaboration of everyone, and everyone moving in the same direction. When things get better we'll ask each other. "Who got us going?" We'll look at each other and say, "It had to be me, it had to be you."
Now be well. Save. Be positive. Keep your spirit!
