How to Install a Car Radio in a Nissan

    • 1). Disconnect the negative battery cable from the negative lead post of the Nissan battery with the 10 mm wrench.

    • 2). Pry the small dash panel between the hazard and defrost switch away from the dashboard with the trim panel removal tool. Remove the screw behind the panel with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

    • 3). Pry the center dash panel that surrounds the stereo and climate control knobs away from the dashboard with the trim panel removal tool.

    • 4). Disconnect electrical wiring to the defrost and hazard switches by pulling the wire binders from the back of the panel.

    • 5). Remove the two screws on either side of the factory stereo with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

    • 6). Pull the stereo from the dashboard. Disconnect the wiring from the back of the stereo.

    • 7). Place the wiring harness adapter into the vacant stereo mounting dock of the Nissan. Feed the factory stereo wiring through to the front of the faceplate adapter. Connect the Nissan stereo wiring to a wiring harness adapter.

    • 8). Connect the leads of the wiring harness adapter to the back of the aftermarket stereo. Slide the aftermarket stereo into the opening provided by the faceplate adapter.

    • 9). Replace the two screws on either side of the stereo mounting bracket with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

      Replace the trim panel that surrounds the stereo and climate control knobs. Connect electrical wiring to the back of the hazard and defrost switches, and press around the perimeter of the panel to snap it back into place.

      Replace the screw into the dash panel between the hazard and defrost switches with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Replace the small dash panel that covers the screw between the two switches.

      Place the negative battery cable clamp over the negative lead post of the battery. Tighten the clamp to the lead post with the 10 mm wrench.
