How to Make Bread in a Coffee Can
- 1). Dip a large piece of wax paper in the salted melted butter and rub it on the inside of the coffee cans, making sure to reach every crevice. Set the cans aside for later use.
- 2). Combine flour and yeast in the large bowl. Make a well in the center of the mix and set aside.
- 3). Pour together unsalted butter, warm milk, egg, and honey. Stir until completely combined.
- 4). Slowly pour the wet mix into the well in the middle of the dry mix using the wooden spoon for approximately five minutes, or until the dough becomes elastic and smooth.
- 5). Divide the dough into three equal pieces and place each into a can. Cover each can with a damp cloth and place in a warm area. Allow the dough to rise for about one hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- 6). Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the cans in the oven for 35 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
- 7). Remove the cans and let them cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing the bread. Top the bread slices with butter, honey or jam, or wrap the loaves in decorative cellophane and give as presents.
