How to Copy and Paste a Macro in Word

    • 1). Click "View" on the Microsoft Word main menu and then click the arrow under "Macros." Select the option to "View Macros." A dialog box loads. You can also open this dialog box by clicking the "Macros" button in the "Developer" menu in Word.

    • 2). Select the name of the macro that you want to copy from the list. Click "Edit" from the side menu in the dialog box to open the macro code in Visual Basic.

    • 3). Press "Ctrl" + "A" to select all of the text listed in the Visual Basic box for your macro code. Click "Ctrl" + "C" to copy the data to your clipboard. Click the "X" at the top of the Visual Basic editor screen to close the window.

    • 4). Press "Ctrl" + "O" to open an existing Word document or "Ctrl" + "N" to create a new one.

    • 5). Press the "Visual Basic" button on the "Developer" toolbar to load the Visual Basic editing window again. Click "Ctrl" + "V" in the open editing window to paste the macro code.
