How to Make Glass Tile Christmas Lights
- 1). Put on your protective eyewear and gloves. Carefully clamp the glass block into place using a towel, so it doesn't get scratched. Spray the drill bit with cold water. Drill a hole into one side of the block approximately 1/4-inch through the glass or until you reach the hollow middle slowly, continuing to spray the drill bit with water as you drill. Use the handheld end of a vacuum cleaner to suck as much of the tiny glass bits out of the hole as possible
- 2). Blow air into the hole for a final cleaning using the air compressor, using caution not to allow air to build up inside the block. Check to make sure that your light strand works. Carefully feed the Christmas lights in through the hole one light at a time until the entire strand (with the exception of the plug ends) has been inserted into the hollow middle of the glass block. The lights will fill the hollow section of the block in a random, bunched-up type of pattern, so it will look like a ball of lights.
- 3). Plug in the light strand after all the lights are fed through the hole. You can leave the block as it is as a decoration or you can add additional decoration to the outside of the block by either tying a Christmas bow around it or sticking Christmas-themed cling-ons, like snowflakes, to its front and back.
