Imagine you open your Sunday issue of your favorite newspaper and in the Finance and Investing section you found the following advertisement: "For sale by Owner: Democratic Republic of Somsierraswangolaongo (DRS), Serious Inquiries Only By way of background a national public referendum of the citizens of the Democratic Republic of Somsierraswangolaongo (DRS) have agreed to offer the state for 50 year lease.
The bidding process will be closed at on the last working day of this calendar year.
All qualified bidders are encouraged to submit their proposals to the Finance Minister's office where all reasonable offers will be considered.
In principle our offer is as follows: In exchange for the terms stipulated below the DRS (Lessor) offers the Lessee controlling interest in all state-owned companies that currently manage the countries impressive natural resources.
These include agricultural, mineral and petroleum rights.
Sale or export of all DRS resources are subject to federal taxes.
The terms of our offer is as follows: DRC (Lessor) offers a 50-year lease with option for 3 additional 10-year addendums if agreed to by both parties.
Qualified Bidders (Lessee) must be a representative democracy or a coalition of representative democracies.
A Lessees decision to participate in the bidding process must be made via public/open congressional/parliamentary referendum/vote.
A Lessee agrees to provide both short and long-term security to the entire state and not simply the urban areas.
Note: this includes specifically the restive areas to the east of the Somsierraswangolaongo highlands.
A Lessee agrees to take control/responsibility for the training and if need be the execution of law enforcement duties countrywide.
A Lessee agrees to use not less than 33% of final agreed price to develop all aspects of society including but not limited to: social, medical, fiscal, education, military, diplomatic and commercial.
The Lessor reserves the right to lease herself to the Lessee of her choosing, or to withdraw the offer entirely, at anytime during the bidding process A Lessee must provide detailed plans regarding how they intend to deal with the terms listed herein.

The world community (read: United Nations and its member states collectively) has failed the people of Africa in the past half century.
Their ability to provide short-term aid must be applauded but conversely their ability to deliver lasting improvements must be viewed as an abject failure.
There is an old saying, 'When everyone is in charge, no one is responsible.
' The premise of the UN is sound and should be reinforced but their mission and mandate must be modified.
It's time for new strategies in Africa, by and for Africans, and not the continuation of strategies which have proven, time and again, to fail.
