How to Select a Gift for a 1-Year-Old Girl
- 1). Ask the baby's parents what they need - this can save you shopping time and save them from having to return a gift.
- 2). Get into the project: Browse a baby store or shop online.
- 3). Consider a gift certificate if you live out of state or if you're short on time.
- 4). Look toward college: Buy a bond or earmark a check for the baby girl's educational fund.
- 5). Build the library; get a baby book or two. Board books with few words, bright colors and things to touch and feel are a good bet at this age.
- 6). Go for clothes, but buy big - at least 18-month-old sizes for this birthday.
- 7). Consider blocks, push toys (such as a shopping cart or duck with flapping feet), noisemakers, or a toy phone if you're at a loss for ideas.
- 8). Go for a nontraditional gift: Pamper the parents. Give them a night of babysitting or a massage.
