The Hula Hoop - A Fun Exercise That Will Give You Muscular Tone and Definition

The hula hoop has been around for decades.
Kids use it to have fun.
Acrobatic performers use it to display their agility and coordination skills.
Women use it for fun.
Not many guys I know use it- including myself.
But, I notice it a lot because I see my wife use it regularly and also several of my younger nieces.
My wife has well-toned abs and midsection.
Thus, there has to be some benefits with using the hula hoop as a tool (just like a dumb bell or even a kettlebell) to tone your body especially your midsection.
Five minutes of doing the hula hoop impacts various parts of the body.
Many people can use multiple hula hoops simultaneously.
They can have several hoops around their arms and legs and hips.
But, the standard plastic 40 inch hula hoop around the waist works the body out in amazing ways.
My wife likes to do the hula with one leg in front of the other.
Then, she switches positions of the legs after about 2 and a half minutes.
The legs gets a great workout.
The midsection and hips get a fantastic workout.
My wife tightens up the abdominals during the movement to place emphasis on the workout.
She seems to have fun doing it- but she is getting a great workout.
Because she puts her arms up during the movement, her arms get a workout as well.
As she keeps the hula swirling around her hips, she also varies the speed of spinning the hula which adds variety to the exercise movement.
The standard plastic hula hoop can do wonders to your body.
You can add it to your arsenal of exercise equipments.
For me, I do not use the hula hoop in any capacity.
It may be just a guy thing.
But, there are several guys I know who enjoy using the hula.
They say they can feel a workout in their hips, midsection, and legs.
If it is an activity that is fun and worthwhile, then I say go ahead and do it.
I even noticed that they have weighted hula hoops.
My wife tried it a couple of times.
She cannot perform the movement as long because it is heavier, but she sweats much more and feels the exercise movement more.
So, go ahead and get out the hula hoop from the toy bin or from the back of the closet.
It is a fantastic and fun workout- or so I have been told by my wife.
When you continually do an exercise because it is fun, you will continue to do that activity.
The hula is a fun tool and a fun activity.
And, the results it does to your body do not lie.
