Day Camps in Seattle
- Explore nature and join the day camp at Discovery Park Nature guided by professional naturalists. Sessions last for one week from Monday through Friday and are divided into different age groups. Activities include learning about plants and animals of the Pacific Northwest and day trips for wildlife and nature-viewing. Discovery Park spans 560 acres and is operated by Seattle Parks and Recreation. Campers can enjoy its Magnolia Bluff location overlooking Puget Sound with views of both the Olympic and the Cascade Mountain ranges. Discovery Park encompasses tidal beaches and open meadow lands. cliffs, sand dunes, forest groves, thickets, ponds and streams. - A variety of sports camps are available in Seattle including basketball, soccer, golf and gymnastics. Peter Fewing Soccer Camps conducts day-camp sessions on many parks and recreational areas around Seattle such as Snoqualmie Community Park, Green Lake, Normandy Park and Magnuson Park Field. Day camps are scheduled Monday through Friday, three hours per day. Aspiring gymnasts can develop technique and skills by registering with the Metropolitan Gymnastics training program. The sessions focus on skill development and tactics to improve strength, flexibility and kinesthetic awareness on the balance beam, vault and uneven bars.
- Dance Fremont in Stone Way North and Children's Dance Workshop in First Avenue North has day-camp programs for kids and adults. Dance Fremont offers summer classes and day camps in creative dance, ballet, modern dance, jazz, musical theater and advance contemporary dance intensive. The camps are divided into different age groups and last from four to eight weeks.
- The Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum in downtown Seattle offers day camps that focus on music and art workshops. Programs such as the Rock Band and Rock Photography workshops teach campers about topics such as song elements while improving skills for singing and playing instruments. The camp requires at least six months of instrument experience. The Rock Photography camp is a workshop that explores and develops digital photography skills and knowledge. All camps are held at the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum.
