How to Turn Off Windows XP Auto Update

1). Click "Start," and then click the menu button labeled "Run." This brings up the run-dialog box.
2). Type "sysdm.cpl" into the box. Press "Enter" on your keyboard. The System Properties menu appears.
3). Click the tab labeled "Automatic Updates." Click "Turn off Automatic Updates." Click "Ok" to make the change.
