How to Have a Cute Teen Room

10
    • 1). Paint the room with colors that appeal to the teen. The right color on the walls gives a foundational look. A cute room is, by nature, a cheery room with lighter colors that give the impression of space. Bright, bold colors work just as well as pastels, but darker colors should be avoided.

    • 2). Divide the room into zones that allow the teen to move freely between tasks. Designated sleeping, dressing, study and entertainment zones allow the teen to decorate with different ideas that flow instead of having a jumble that runs together. Too much formality in the arrangement, though, may move the room out of the "cute" state.

    • 3). Mix different fond mementos of the teen's life together so she knows she doesn't necessarily have to abandon one aspect to move on to another. For example, a poster of her favorite teen idol can be hung over her collection of stuffed animals.

    • 4). Create a single theme if there is enough interest from the teen. For example, a young girl who dreams of going to the Air Force Academy might want to have things placed around the room that remind her of the Air Force and flying.
