How Can You Boot to DOS to Do a Chkdsk?
- 1). Insert a floppy disk into the 3 1/2 floppy drive.
- 2). Double left click the boot disk creation program. This creates a boot-able DOS disk from the floppy inserted in the drive. Leave the disk in the drive after completion.
- 3). Restart the computer. Upon restarting, a DOS environment will be loaded.
- 4). Type "Chkdsk" into the command prompt to begin the Chkdsk utility.
