A Fun Flower Container Idea
Are you bored with the same old garden ideas? Want to try something different? The next time you're in the hardware store grab yourself a mailbox post holder, and a mailbox.
Just an inexpensive plastic mailbox will be good enough for this project.
The post holder eliminates any need for digging a hole or using cement.
Just drive the post holder into the ground where you want it and you're ready to get started.
You may need to cut the post to the proper height, and you may also need to cut a wooden plate to mount on top of the post to hook to mailbox on to.
If you don't own or have access to a saw, then make sure you pre-measure all of you wooden components and when you're in the hardware store for a couple extra dollars you can have them cut those wooden components to size for you.
Put the post into the post holder, grab a ratchet and a wrench and tighten the post holder around the post.
Take a wooden plate you had cut to put to mailbox on to, and screw it on top of the post.
Now you're ready to put the mailbox onto the wooden plate.
Once the mailbox is installed you can go ahead and fill it would dirt.
You only need to put two or 3 inches of dirt in the mailbox and then when you're ready to put your flowers in you can cover the root balls up with more dirt.
We added some nice trailing flowers inside the mailbox, and we also added some nice climbing flowers at the base of the post.
The tools you need will be limited to a ratchet and a socket, a wrench, small sledgehammer, and a screwdriver.
These are tools you can find at almost any home.
The entire project will only take you a couple of hours.
It becomes very easy because you do not have to dig a hole for the post.
All you have to do is just drive the post holder into the ground where you would like to have it.
Once we were done we added a couple of solar lights a couple stepping-stones in the bed that surrounds the base of the post.
This will give you a unique and different type of flower container and makes a great conversation piece when you have friends over.
This is just another one of the great ideas that my wife is always coming up with to something a little bit different and unusual.
This surely keeps down the boredom of just a regular flower garden.
