How to Make Duck Hunting Laydown Blinds
- 1). Purchase two adult sized plastic snow sleds. Spray paint the sleds a beige color to blend with the natural landscape. Let the paint dry completely before building the blind.
- 2). Use a saw to cut one foot off one of the sleds. The gap will be used for viewing from inside the blind.
- 3). Place one sled with the bottom on the ground. Place the altered sled on top and upside down. The edges of the sleds will align and fit flush on top of each other. Drill three holes along one side. Drill the holes through both sleds.
- 4). Feed a piece of rope through each hole and use an overhand knot to connect the sleds. Tie the rope with a gap that will allow the top sled to easily swing open.
- 5). Lay a sleeping pad inside of the sleds for comfort. Add blankets for cold weather hunting.
- 6). Cover the blind with natural materials in the field. Allow the exterior to become dirty with mud and grass for extra camouflage.
