Last year, I created a list of the 10 biggest questions wrestling fans had as we entered 2014. Here are the answers to those questions.

1. What will WWE's big announcement be at the CES show?

On January 8, WWE held a special event at the Consumer Electronics Show.  At the event, they officially announced the upcoming launch of the WWE Network in 47 days. 

2. Is Batista coming back for good?

Batista returned to the WWE at Royal Rumble 2014.


  Despite winning that match and earning a spot in the main event of WrestleMania XXX, fans were less than enthused about his return and despite initially returning as a fan favorite and sarcastically began referring to him as Bootista.  Shortly after leaving the company, Guardians of the Galaxy came out and went on to become the top grossing domestic film of the year.  With a sequel and spot in an Avengers film lined up, I don't foresee him returning to the ring anytime soon.

3. Who will challenge the streak?

Undertaker entered 2014 with a 21-0 record at WrestleMania.  Brock Lesnar not only challenged the streak, he became the one to put the one in 21-1.

4. Is this the year WWE Network comes into existence?

After years of rumors about a 24-hour WWE network, it was finally launched this February.

5. Will WWE programming remain on NBC Universal stations?

WWE's contracts with NBC Universal expired in 2014.  Due to the launch of the WWE Network and potentially lucrative television deals in the work, Wall Street investors caused the stock to nearly double in price from early December to March.

  When WWE announced that they were returning to NBC, investors were not happy with the deal they signed which caused the stock to plummet by 50%.  Despite this volatility and the ensuing lawsuits that have been filed, the stock is trading around the same level as it was a year ago.

6. Will TNA get kicked out of Universal Studios?

In 2013, TNA decided to take IMPACT WRESTLING on the road but returned back home to Orlando by the end of the year.  Heading into 2014, there were rumors that WWE was going to announce that there will be a physical Hall of Fame and that it might be located at Universal Studios.  While that rumor didn't come to fruition this year, TNA chose to take IMPACT WRESTLING back on the road in 2014.

7. Will Ultimate Warrior get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?

The relationship between Ultimate Warrior and WWE had been both contentious and litigious for close to two decades.  However, peace between the parties came to pass and Warrior finally got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.  Sadly, Warrior suffered a fatal heart attack a few days after the induction ceremony which took place the night before WrestleMania XXX.

8. Is Hulk Hogan heading back to WWE?

Hulk Hogan's deal with TNA expired in 2013.  In 2014, he returned to WWE and served as the host of WrestleMania XXX.

9. Is Shawn Michaels going to have one more match?

At Hell in a Cell 2013, Shawn Michaels cost Daniel Bryan a chance to become WWE Champion.  A fantasy match between student and teacher never came to pass in 2014.

10. Will the lights stay on?

In 2013,there was a power outage during the Super Bowl which was held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.  Luckily for wrestling fans, history did not repeat itself and WrestleMania XXX went off without a hitch.
